Oregon contractors — license, bond, insurance, and who has employees
Type a contractor name or a CCB number. 44,595 active licenses in the Construction Contractors Board file of October 2, 2026.
Hiring a contractor? A dated license report ($19) for your file — or your subcontractor list checked.
What this is
Anyone paid to build or repair structures in Oregon needs a license from the Construction Contractors Board, a surety bond and liability insurance. The Board's file also says whether a contractor is “exempt” (no employees) or “nonexempt” (employees, and workers' compensation insurance required). This site puts it on one record and lists contractors by city, by endorsement, and by whether they have employees.
Who uses it
- Homeowners — is this contractor licensed, bonded and insured, and for what kind of work?
- General contractors — check a subcontractor, and whether it may have employees on site.
- Suppliers and insurers — the contractors of one city or one endorsement.
What it is not
Not the CCB, and not a license. Only active licenses are in the file. Complaints, disputes and disciplinary history are on the CCB's own search, not here.
